Sixteen years thinking in systems.
Jonathan Pierce is a behavioral systems
architect with 16 years of experience designing
products and systems across SaaS, financial
services, retail, and consumer goods.
His career started at a small marketing firm,
building end-to-end solutions for brands —
strategy, design, copy, build, deployment, all
of it. Coding was part of the work from the
beginning, starting with Drupal and continuing
as a constant through every design role since.
Owning the full system, end to end, became the
throughline. It taught him to think about brand,
product, organization, and code as one connected
architecture rather than separate disciplines
handed off between specialists.
That holistic foundation shaped the rest of the
career. As a Staff Product Designer at companies
including Dropbox, Goldman Sachs, Nestlé Purina,
and Bass Pro Shops — with earlier work at
Whirlpool, Intuit, and consulting engagements
across startups and Fortune 100s — he led design
and behavioral strategy work for products and
systems used by hundreds of millions of
customers. The scale changed; the way of
thinking didn't.
What he learned across those engagements is
simple: people don't experience products as
features or screens, they experience feelings
that shape trust, confidence, and momentum. As
AI accelerates how products are built and
decisions are automated, those feelings matter
more than ever — and the companies that design
for them deliberately are the ones building
durable advantage.
Jonathan founded Pierce/Co. to apply that
perspective at the system level, working with
leadership and design teams to understand how
customers form beliefs and to translate that
understanding into systems that guide behavior
and support sustainable growth.
He lives and works in Ozark, Missouri, and
engages with clients globally.
